LCS Academy - Professional Support & Education

LCS has always been committed to providing training and educational support to our clients. It was this motivation that in 2008 caused us to set up our sister company LCSAcademy Ltd.

LCS Academy is devoted to providing the highest level of education in the cosmetic medicine and clinical usage of laser systems. In addition LCS Academy provides basic laser safety training such as Core of Knowledge, Laser Protection Supervisor Courses, Laser & IPL Contraindications Courses. Under the care of Dr Elizabeth Raymond Brown, LCSAcademy's Director of Education, the Academy has been awarded Edexcel Centre status and provides the new BTEC awards. Dr Raymond Brown says “the brand new, and completely rewritten and updated BTEC awards are a breakthrough in laser, IPL education”.

The new BTECs are known as the BTEC(Medical), principally aimed at medical practitioners and very experienced nurses and the BTEC(Aesthetic), aimed at non-medically qualified practitioners. But don't imagine that the BTEC(Aesthetic) is any less demanding than the BTEC(Medical) - it is simply that the latter contains some information and treatments which are only appropriate to medical and hospital based practitioners.

Perhaps the greatest achievement for LCS Academy has been the development and launch of the UK’s first Master’s Degree in Cosmetic Medicine. The degree has been developed in association with the University of Greenwich and is a full Master’s in Professional Practice Cosmetic Medicine. The qualification covers all aspects of Cosmetic Medicine from injectable neurotoxins and dermal fillers through sclerotherapy, body contouring and associated treatments, to the laser, light and energy based modalities which are now  so prevalent in the field of Cosmetic Medicine.

The degree is open to medical practitioners, dental surgeons and independent nurse prescribers who are able to demonstrate experience and training commensurate with entry to the programme.
